A meal may seem like a small thing, but, for a hungry child, it can open doors.‌

A few days ago, I shared the story of Daniel Djagri, a student in northern Togo who receives a daily school meal through a CRS-supported school lunch program. Today, I wanted to share a little more about what your support can make possible.

Fourteen-year-old Assenawa Massena attends school in northern Togo, where Catholic Relief Services supports a school lunch program. Thanks to generous supporters, Assenawa, like Daniel, receives a hot, nutritious meal at school every day.

‌

It helps her concentrate in class, attend school regularly and succeed in her studies. In fact, Assenawa ranked fourth in her class on her most recent exam. And when asked about her future, she says with confidence:

"School is good now. I want to become a teacher."
