View Online IMMEDIATE RELEASE Secretary of Defense General Officer Announcements for June 18, 2025 June 18, 2025 Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced today that the President has made the following nominations: Space Force Gen. Michael A. Guetlein for appointment to the grade of general, with assignment as direct reporting program manager for Golden Dome for America, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Guetlein is currently serving as vice chief of Space Operations, U.S. Space Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.  Air Force Lt. Gen. Adrian L. Spain for appointment to the grade of general, with assignment as commander, Air Combat Command, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. Spain is currently serving as deputy chief of staff, Operations, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Air Force Lt. Gen. Case A. Cunningham for reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general, with assignment as deputy chief of staff, Operations, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Cunningham is currently serving as commander, Alaskan Command, U.S. Northern Command; commander, Eleventh Air Force, Pacific Air Forces; and commander, Alaskan North American Aerospace Defense Region, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska.  Air Force Lt. Gen. John J. DeGoes for reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general, with assignment as surgeon general of the Air Force and commander, Air Force Medical Command, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. DeGoes is currently serving as surgeon general of the Air Force, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
