View Online IMMEDIATE RELEASE Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks Travels to London, United Kingdom Dec. 6, 2024 Attributable to Pentagon Spokesman Eric Pahon:  Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks departs tomorrow for London, United Kingdom, to attend the bi-annual U.S.-UK defense dialogue and conduct a speaking engagement at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI). During the dialogue, led by Deputy Secretary Hicks and Permanent Under Secretary for Defence David Williams, U.S. and UK officials will discuss a broad range of strategic and technical issues of mutual interest. The Deputy Secretary will also deliver a speech and participate in a fireside chat at RUSI, where she will reflect on lessons learned over nearly three years of Russia's latest war of aggression against Ukraine, their implications for potential future conflict in the Indo-Pacific, and how innovations by the U.S., UK, and other like-minded allies and partners can give democracies an upper hand in shaping and mastering the changing character of war.
