Temporary Access Changes for the National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial, Oct. 18 – 20, 2024

The National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial remains open to visitors.  However, due to weekend milling and paving work, the pedestrian tunnel to and from the Hayes Street Parking Lot, and Lanes 1-5 and portions of Lanes 6-17 in South Parking will be closed from 6 p.m. EDT, Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, to 7 p.m. EDT, Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024.

Tours groups and other visitors to the 9/11 Memorial during the above time period who park in the Hayes Street Parking Lot should follow signage to alternative pathways to access the Pentagon Reservation via Fern Street.

Handicapped visitors will still be able to park in the handicapped spaces in Lane 1 to visit the 9/11 Memorial.  All vehicles utilizing these spaces must display a valid disabled parking permit issued by the state in which the vehicle is registered.

Additionally, South Rotary Road from the Columbia Pike (Route 244) ramp to Fern Street will be closed from 6 p.m. EDT, Friday, Oct. 18, to 7 p.m. EDT, Sunday, Oct. 20, and the following ramps will also be closed from 6 p.m. EDT, Friday, Oct. 18, to 7 p.m. EDT, Sunday, Oct. 20:

  • Columbia Pike (Route 244) to South Rotary Road.
  • South Washington Boulevard (Route 27) to South Rotary Road.
  • South Rotary Road to I-395 N / 14th Street Bridge.
  • Exit 8A from I-395 S to South Parking.

North Rotary Road and west bound Columbia Pike will not be impacted by this activity
