Gen. Pat Ryder provided the following readout: On October 11, in two separate calls, Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III spoke with his Mexican counterparts, the Secretary of National Defense General Ricardo Trevilla Trejo and the Secretary of the Navy Admiral Raymundo Morales Ángeles.  Secretary Austin relayed his congratulations to both counterparts on their recent appointments. The Secretary and his counterparts discussed the importance of the U.S.-Mexico defense relationship to security in the region along with the trilateral partnership with Canada.
