Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III spoke with Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant today to discuss Israel's operations in Gaza. Secretary Austin and Minister Gallant reaffirmed the shared goals of ensuring the enduring defeat of Hamas and securing the release of all hostages, and the Secretary emphasized the importance of taking all necessary steps to minimize civilian harm.
