View Online IMMEDIATE RELEASE General Officer Announcements Dec. 3, 2024 Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III announced today that the president has made the following nominations: Air Force Maj. Gen. Mark B. Pye for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general, with assignment as commander, Air Force Nuclear Systems Center. Pye is currently serving as the director, Programs, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Plans and Programs, Headquarters, U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Air Force Col. Matthew C. Brown for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Brown is currently serving as the deputy director, Joint Staff, Indiana National Guard, Indianapolis, Indiana.
